I went inverted-spelunking at work tonight. I was 100’ above the ground, but there is no other way to describe the path to the great arch of a really really big room.
DDC week 4 -- breakfast!
So, I’ve been a bit of a slacker this week, but was happy to see an all local breakfast option just hangin out in my fridge waiting to be cooked. We had a frittata with kale still hanging on to life from my last csa share (88miles) the eggs were from the other part of our csa. Some panfried sweet potatoes also from the csa (88) and toast (I don’t remember) with homemade apple butter...

DDC week 3 --
This week I spent an entire day cooking comfort treats. It should probably have taken much less time, but it was a dilly-dally sort of sunday. First I made granola, then oatmeal bread (speaking of both, I need a local oatmeal source). Then on to dinner. We had chicken roasted with garlic, cinnamon, bayleaf and brandy, a recipe I got from a Catalan cookbook I bought on a trip to Barcelona...

pet peeve I didn't even know I had:
If more than 3 years has passed since you have been in school (and I’m being generous) and you do not have a phd in said subject (maybe even if you do), the words “we studied this in _____ class, it is called…” will not endear you to anyone. Least of all me apparently.
