OLS week 4: After a Soggy Clearwater
The clearwater festival was cut short this year to quite the thunderstorm, but before we gave in we had lunch at wild hive farm’s stand (which was a HUGE improvement over any other snacks we’ve had there in past years). There was a pulled heritage pork sandwich, polenta, greens and pesto pizza. It was so good and I immediately missed it so much that upon returning home I started digging through the fridge for pizza makings.
I had a little container of sauce in the freezer from last year’s tomato share sauce making expedition, the last one. I also realized to great rejoicing I had a tiny bit of pesto left, too. I had to take a field trip for cheese (naturally the sun came out the moment we got home) while the dough rose, added salad, and it was all really yummy.

pizza one: pesto (csa 88) (except for the pine nuts and cheese), sausage left from last weeks OLS dinner
pizza two: tomato sauce (csa 88), spring onion (csa 88)
both: white flour (king arthur 260), whole wheat (wild hive 83), cheeses (uhm)
Salad: of red leaf lettuce, radishes, peppercress, herbs (csa 88)
