OLS week 6 -- in which we are on vacation and not cooking.

Portland gave us many tasty local treats. One place we ate — which from all appearances looked to be a pretty average diner — had an insert with specials like many diners do, but this one listed what came from which farm, awesome!

I ate many hazelnuts (I had no idea that was an oregon specialty) and many berries we don’t appear to have around these parts.

The wedding which brought us to Portland is the first place featured a reception meal of a community prepared vegetarian potluck and there were so many delicious things, locally roasted coffee, locally brewed beer and my personal favorite: a carbon neutral ride home - they walked (complete with just married sign and trailing cans, don’t you worry).
